Mindomo is a product of Expert Software Applications (EXswap), a software development company located in Timisoara, Romania, and the European Union. EXswap was formed in 2002 by Zoltán Lórincz and Frank Mrosk. The site averages 15,000 unique visitors per month.

Sixteen map styles are available for use and can be adjusted for center, right or left aligned views. A variety of font options and other basic formatting tools are available.

Maps may be exported in a variety of formats including text, JPG, PDF, XLS, and HTML. Files may be imported from Freemind, MMAP, or Mindomo xml.

A forum is available for users to network and problem solve, request features for future versions, and to report bugs in the program.

The Premium plan for $6/month covers all of the Basic Plan options plus Mindomo Desktop Premium, unlimited private maps, 350MB storage space, Map encryption, spell check, topic filters, and advanced export and import features. The Team plan for $9/month/user is designed for teams and has a team administration interface with branded home page, custom subdomain and shared team folder. Subscriptions are billed semiannually or annually in advance and educators receive a 50% plan discount.
